“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” – Albert Einstein

Aromatherapy -

My Grandmother smelled like Lavendar and there are times when I smell that aroma and drift backward into her embrace. My mother seldom hugged, just was not that type of person, my father did, but was affected by that sexual distance fathers must have from daughters. It was the warmth of my grandmother that held me, and still does throuout the years.

I burn myself at the stove and reach for the lavendar. The scent makes me whole and the lavedar oil lets me heal the burn. This is actually how aromatherapy was discovered.

Aromatherapy can affect the mood or psychological equilibruim, it can assist in restoring health. In the Bible it was used by ancient healers. Moses was commanded by God to create perfume. In tombs there are small amphora full of wonderful scents. Cleopatra perhaps wore the scent of the blue lotus among others. This was sacred to the pharohs and a hallucinogen. Wonderful how the scents can sooth, and protect your body and face.

In massage aromatherapy adds an additional dimension to the treatment. Depending on which essence is used it can and is often used in massage treatments to induce relaxation and improve the circulation. Massage oils created from rose, lavendar, jasmine or clary sage all lend a different flavour and each a different medicinal and spiritual value.

Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they travel through the bloodstream and can promote whole-body healing.

The "scents" inhaled from these "essential" oils is often believed to stimulate brain function.

When did amateur leave the realm of smudging? Is there anything more wonderful than the scent of burning cedar or sweet grass. How many days, years, months has it been since you smudged your home creating clarity and removing negative energy?

Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they travel through the bloodstream and can promote whole-body healing. these odors travel though your olfactory system - the part of the brain connected to smell. Signals are received by the most ancient brain, the limbic system that controls emotions and stores and retrieves learned memories. This triggers chemicals to be released.

I use aromatherapy and essential oils in my products and in my work. Here are a few oils you may want to try because of the marvelous benefits they extend to you.

Pine Oil: Is useful to relieve mental, physical and sexual fatigue, while having a cleansing and clearing effect on your personal environment.

Lavender Oil: Removes nervous tension, relieves pain, disinfects scalp and skin, enhance blood circulation and treats respiratory problems. It may be used to cleanse cuts, bruises, and skin irritations. As was mentioned before: Lavender oil when used on a burn can help it heal and resist scarring. French chemist and perfumer Rene Maurice Gattefosse was working in his lab when he burned his hand badly. The only compound near was Lavender oil, and he treated his hand with this oil. It immediately eased his pain, but also helped heal his hand without any sign of infection or scar.

One of my own favorite healing methods is to light a stick of incense, put on some soft sound music and meditate away. It is perhaps the most powerful relaxation method I have (that in feet in the water at the beach) and balances my body and my spirit.
